Save Money

discounted preview series

Just $27 per show! Subscriptions for preview performances are $135 for five shows in either the Marx or Thompson Shelterhouse theatres. Preview dates: Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. (Marx only); Sunday, 7 p.m. (Shelterhouse only); Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. There is a ticket upgrade fee to exchange to non-preview performances.

We’ve expanded our lowest-priced seating section in the Marx Theatre to the entire back row for all regular season performances. In this intimate space, you’re never farther than 13 rows to the stage. Subscriptions start at just $142 for five shows.

expanded! Baby Sitter Rebate Series

Purchase two Five Show Series to the Marx Theatre and receive a rebate of up to $100 ($20 per production attended) to help cover your baby-sitting expenses for your children 12 and under. Now expanded to include Build Your Own Series tickets in the Marx Theatre! Not valid for Previews, Student or Extra Savings Build Your Own subscriptions. Valid for lower-level Marx Theatre seating only. With the purchase of one subscription, you may receive up to $50, or $10 per production. Rebate is sent at the end of the season and based on performances attended.

student build your own series

Students may select as few as four and as many as 10 productions for just $22 per show! Proof of full-time student status is required for each subscription ordered. Available for any night with B, C or D section seating in the Marx Theatre and Side B section in the Shelterhouse. Generally recommended for high school age student and older. Parental discretion is advised.

opening night series

Share the excitement of Thursday opening nights with a lively post-show cast party with complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Series date: first Thursday.

playhouse perspectives

Enhance your theatre experience with a free pre-show lecture featuring distinguished scholars and theatre artists examining issues related to Marx Theatre shows. Funding for this program is generously provided by Roderick and Barbara Barr. Series date: second Sunday, 7 p.m., Marx Theatre. Lectures begin at 6 p.m.

audio described series

Using an earpiece attached to a small, hand-sized receiver, patrons with visual impairments hear a live, concise description of the action on stage. Series date: third Saturday, 4 p.m., Marx Theatre.

signed performances

For patrons with hearing impairments. Series date: third Sunday, 2 p.m., Marx Theatre.

dinner series

Enjoy served dinners by Karlo’s Bistro at the Playhouse before every Marx and Shelterhouse evening production. Each full-course dinner includes a salad, entrée, dessert and coffee or tea. Available on a show-by-show or subscription basis with advance reservation. Casual fare quick dining also available for sandwiches, soups or pasta without a reservation.
